Shack/Slum Dwellers International (SDI) is a network of community-based organizations of the urban poor in 33 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It was launched in 1996 when “federations” of the urban poor in countries such as India and South Africa agreed that a global platform could help their local initiatives develop alternatives to evictions while also impacting on the global agenda for urban development. In 1999, SDI became a formally registered entity.

MuST – Muungano Support Trust
Muungano Support Trust (MuST) is a NGO in Kenya that seeks to position networks of the poor to contribute to, own and sustain these investments. It is the newly formed secretariat of the Kenyan slum dwellers federation, Muungano wa Wanavijiji. It comprises of a team of professionals who have worked with Muungano . This re-formulation of support represents the restructuring of SDI’s Kenyan alliance, which lays greater decision-making emphasis on the federation, and at the same time builds a stronger synergy with the federation’s urban poor fund, Muungano Akiba Mashinani Trust.

AAPS – Association of Africa Planning Schools
AAPS is a network of tertiary planning schools drawn from across Africa whose main aim is to facilitate the exchange of information between African planning schools. AAPS seeks to ‘Revitalise Planning Education’ in Africa, and also to promote community collaboration in planning education programmes through partnerships with advocacy networks.

Pamoja Trust – Pamoja Trust
Pamoja Trust, (PT), is a non-profit making organization founded in 1999. PT is dedicated to promoting access to land, shelter and basic services for the Urban Poor. The organization takes principled and pragmatic approaches to protection and promotion of the right to the city through advocacy and precedence setting models for problem solving.
Centre for sustainable development (CSD) is a non-profit organization registered in 2003 under the Karnatka Societies Registration Act. CSD is located in the city of Bangalore and is governed by a board of highly distinguished and eminent personalities associated with sustainable development.
